Open and edit Markdown files as plain text

Hey, I'm new to Jotterpad on Android, have been using it on Kindle Fire with no issues for years. I'm trying to edit text documents (stored on onedrive) and keep them as text, not to autoconvert to markdown (if I enter a word surrounded by asterisks, for example, I want it to stay with asterisks, not to become italic... Or at least for the asterisks to stay on the screen so I can delete them manually). How do I make Jotterpad understand this is a text file? The file already has a txt extension in onedrive. I don't know what else to do. This DOESN'T happen on Jotterpad for Kindle Fire.

Letorres Writing in plain text would be tedious for some Markdown elements. Example, table, links, web images and etc. Most plain text editors show the yaml front matter too. It makes it hard to focus on my writings.

In v13, we've changed the editor from plain text to rich text in order to support more complex functionalities such as TeX equation, table and etc. We understand that some users still prefer to write in plain text. I've already communicated this to my team.
